6.101 (Fundamentals of Programming) Lab Assistant (LA)

  • Helped introductory computer science students formulate problem-solving strategies, debug and optimize code, and instill good coding practices during open lab hours.
  • Worked through and helped debug, calibrate, and test weekly lab assignments that focus on important concepts such as recursion/iteration, graph search algorithms, and functional programming.
  • Conducted checkoffs to assess students' understanding of the material and their ability to make well- informed choices for data structures, helper functions, and code readability/complexity.

Research Intern

  • Utilized NumPy and Pandas to perform extensive data cleaning and statistical tests (Chi-Squared and Logistic Regression) on large datasets to research the impact of recessions on the treatment retention rate of patients struggling with opioid use disorders (OUDs).
  • Leveraged ML libraries like XGBoost to train predictive models on the dataset, yielding robust insights into the correlation between economic recessions and treatment retention rates among patients with OUDs.
